Women in Ministry Class

Warm Greetings from Western Seminary!

We are offering a great class this March called Women in Leadership.

**This course is for women only, and I know that men are also receiving this email, but, men, you likely have women in your lives who would benefit from a course like this. If you know someone who might enjoy this class, please feel free to pass the information along.**

Questions for women:

Do you have interest in coming together with other women in a safe environment to learn and discuss what it means to be a Christian woman in leadership?
Do you want to learn what the Bible has to say about women in leadership?
Do you want to learn from a seasoned shepherd (a woman) who has a great love for women in ministry and leadership?
Do you want to have more confidence in the way God has designed you as a woman in ministry, with leadership gifts/qualities?
Are there skills you’d like to acquire to be a more effective leader?

If you answered “YES” to any of these questions, then you may want to consider taking PCW 513S Women in Leadership this coming March 2012 at Western Seminary! The four day class will be held on two weekends - Friday and Saturday, March 2-3 & 30-31 from 9:00am – 4:30pm.

If you are a current student, you have the option of taking the class for credit or audit.

If you are not a current student, but would enjoy sitting in the class lectures and being part of the class discussions, you are welcome to audit this class. An a non-credit participant, you would not be required to complete any written or reading assignments. They are purely optional. If you’d like to register as a non-credit/audit student, please fill out the attached form.

If you are an alumna, you may use your annual “free audit” for this class.

Memorial Service for JoAnn Unsicker.

Some of our alumni may be familiar with JoAnn Unsicker. She rented rooms to more fifty of our students over a period of twenty-eight years. She has recently passed away and there is a memorial service scheduled for her on January 21st. To learn more go here.

Hello Western Alums,

I want to let you know about a few things that are happening in our coaching program. If you have attended these before, we’d appreciate you passing along this information to your friends, pastors and colleagues. This is also a reminder that if you haven’t used your free Alumni Audit Opportunityscholarship this year that you can use it for the Introduction to Coaching class. You just need to also fill out an Alumni Audit Opportunity form along with your Non-Credit application. This is the only coaching class that you can use the Alumni Audit Opportunity with. So why not take a taste of what coaching is all about. Experience it for yourself!

Discover Coaching – January 11, 2012

Western Seminary’s next Discover Coaching event at the new San Jose campus will be on Wednesday,January 11 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. RSVP by January 4 to this email.

Introduction to Coaching (MCS 510S) – January 12 & 13, 2012

If you already know that you want to learn more about coaching and you want to get started in the new year, there is still time to sign up for this class. It is held on January 12 and 13 from 8:30am-4:30pm. MCS 510S is the prerequisite for all of our other coaching electives.

The Spring 2012 deadline for a degree program has passed, but you may still apply as Non-credit (audit) by January 5. The Non-credit application is available here. If you know you will be registering for this class could you let me know by December 20 so I know to expect your application? This helps us plan for the class.

Just so you know, if you plan on becoming a certified coach through the International Coach Federation(ICF), they recognize our courses whether you take them for audit or for credit. The only reason you’d need to take coaching courses for credit is if you think down the line you may want to apply the classes towards a degree, as audit classes will not count towards a degree program.
